A strange man, neither peasant nor citizen, ragged, disheveled, was walking towards Enyo's cafe, and Samsi Enyo, sitting in front of the cafe in the shade, could not recognize him.
In the middle of summer in this terrible heat, this man had put on a long winter coat, like a priest's cassock, a crumpled bomb was slipped on his head, and his feet were shod with clods. But most often Enya's eyes returned to the stranger's coat: once it would have been blue, it would have been made of the same fabric, but now nothing was visible - tattered, torn, sometimes perforated, sometimes patched. And among the countless multi-colored patches, two or three very large ones caught the eye the most, taken as if from a sack or from the simplest aba and glued, as it came, with a large seam and bleached threads...

In 2023, another impressive tourist attraction, called "Wonders of the World" and inspired by the new seven wonders of the world, will shine in the "Fairy Tale Forest" park.
The wonders of the world
Miniature models of the world's most famous landmarks are collected here in one place.
These are the Taj Mahal in India, the Colosseum in Rome, Italy, Machu Picchu in Peru, Petra in Jordan, the Pyramid of Kukulkan in Mexico, Christ the Redeemer in Rio De Janeiro, Brazil, and the Great Wall of China in China.
The author of the models is Ivaylo Bilalov.
Taj Mahal temple-mausoleum in Agra, India
The Taj Mahal is a temple-mausoleum located in Agra, India, on the banks of the Yamuna River.
It was built approximately between 1630 and 1652 by order of Emperor Shah Jahan, who was known as the Ruler of the World, in memory of his wife Mumtaz Mahal, who died in childbirth.
The grief-stricken emperor announced two years of mourning in the country and soon decided to build a mausoleum in the then capital Agra on the site of Mumtaz's grave, which would symbolize the fabulous beauty of his beloved wife.
Shah Jahan himself was later buried there.
Inside the mausoleum there are two tombs - of the Shah and his wife.
The Taj Mahal is a platform structure with five domes rising to a height of 74 meters and with four minarets at the corners that are slightly tilted outwards from the tomb so as not to damage it in case of destruction.
A garden with fountains and a pool was built in front of the temple.
The walls are of polished translucent marble inlaid with precious stones. Marble has an interesting feature - in bright light it looks white, in the early morning it turns pink, and on a moonlit night - silver.
For the construction of the complex, more than 20,000 craftsmen were invited from all over the empire, as well as from Central Asia, Persia and the Middle East.
A twin building made of black marble was to be built on the other side of the river, but it was never completed. These two buildings were to be connected by a bridge of gray marble.
The Colosseum in Rome, Italy
The Colosseum is the most spacious and magnificent of the amphitheatres in Ancient Rome, begun by the Emperor Vespasian between AD 70 and AD 72 and completed in AD 80 by the Emperor Titus, with some further alterations made during the reign of Emperor Domitian (AD 81-96 year).
With a capacity of 50,000 spectators, the Colosseum was used for gladiator fights as well as other spectacles such as mock sea battles, animal hunts, executions, battle re-enactments and mythological dramas.
In the Early Middle Ages, the building ceased to be used for performances, and later served for various purposes – dwellings, workshops, seat of a religious order, fortification, quarry and Christian temple.
Although nowadays partially destroyed by earthquakes and quarrying, the Colosseum remains one of the main symbols of the Roman Empire and its engineering achievements.
It is among Rome's most popular tourist attractions and continues to be associated with the Roman Catholic Church, with the Pope leading a torchlight procession starting in the Colosseum area every year on Good Friday.
I will share with you five interesting facts about the Colosseum in Rome:
It took 9 years to build and more than 60,000 Jewish slaves took part in the construction activities
The original name of the Colosseum was Flavius Amphitheater
It has over 80 entrances and can accommodate around 50,000 spectators
The west exit of the Colosseum was called the Gate of Death because it was where the dead gladiators were brought out
It is estimated that around 500,000 people and over a million wild animals lost their lives in the arena of the Colosseum
Machu Picchu Architectural Complex, Peru
Machu Picchu, also known as the Lost City of the Incas (in Quechua: Machu Pikchu, literal translation old peak) is the modern name of an architectural complex in the southern part of present-day Peru, built by the Incas in the XV century.
Machu Picchu has been on the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List since 1983.
The palaces, temples and homes are located 2,430 meters above sea level in the Andes.
It was created as the sacred mountain residence of the great Inca ruler Pachacuti, a century before his empire fell, that is. approximately around 1440, and functioned until 1532, when the Spanish invaded the territory of the empire.
In 1532, all its inhabitants mysteriously disappeared.
Although the site was known to the locals, it remained unknown to the Spanish during the colonial period, as well as to the rest of the world, until American historian Hyrum Bingham III popularized it in 1911.
At one time, Machu Picchu was part of a huge complex of fortresses that the Incas used to defend against the raids of the Indians coming from the jungle.
Basically, Machu Picchu is divided into four parts.
The northwestern one is located in the area that was probably used for religious purposes. It is there that the so-called Holy Square is located, as well as the Temple of the Three Windows, the Holy Temple and the Priests' Mansion. The solar laboratory was also built here, thanks to which the Incas were able to determine the seasons and the time by the shadows that the sun casts on the stones.
In the northeastern part of Machu Picchu, the larger residential buildings of the complex were most likely located.
In the southwestern part was the place of the observation tower and several other buildings.
Near the numerous terraces for agricultural purposes are built the smallest and most modest buildings, standing on small and narrow streets.
At the very bottom of Machu Picchu's terraces is the tomb.
The ancient city of Petra, Jordan
Petra is an ancient city in present-day Jordan, the capital of the Nabateans.
It is located in the natural mountain valley of Wadu Musa (Valley of Moses) on the eastern slope of Wadu Araba, at the crossroads of the main trade routes - to Gaza in the west, Bostra and Damascus in the north, Eilat on the Red Sea and the Persian Gulf on the other side of the desert .
Unknown to the Western world for hundreds of years, the rose-red city of Petra once flourished as an important point in the midst of ancient routes.
It is surrounded by high mountains and accessed through a narrow gorge, and its remarkable rock-cut buildings have been preserved intact.
On December 6, 1985, Petra was included in the UNESCO World Cultural and Natural Heritage List.
Until the Swiss explorer Johann Ludwig Burkhart rediscovered it in 1812, Petra was forgotten for centuries.
It can be reached on foot through Sik Gorge, a narrow, windy passage that in some sections is no more than 6 feet (1.80 m) wide, with cliffs on either side as high as a four-story building.
At the end of this formidable, kilometer-and-a-half-long passage, you see a magical sight through the gap: the Treasury, aka the Treasury, a towering, classically Greek-style temple carved right into the massive face of the 39-meter cliff. It dates from the 5th century - 6th century BC and is one of the best preserved wonders of Petra.
The ancient city, whose name means rock, was a fortified and thriving trading center whose inhabitants carved houses, temples and tombs, sometimes with extremely elaborate and columned facades, into the natural walls of the canyon.
Pyramid of Kukulcan, Mexico
The Pyramid of Kukulkan (El Castllo) is a temple structure that survives among the remains of the ancient Mayan city of Chichen Itza on the Yucatan Peninsula in Mexico.
Inside the pyramid is a temple with two rooms, the entrance being on the north side.
The height of the pyramid is 30 meters, the length of the sides is 55 meters.
Ichen Itza is an archaeological site, an ancient city that was a political, cultural and religious center.
The pyramid of Kukulkan is a nine-tiered structure culminating in a flat platform that supports a two-story temple.
The height to the top platform is 24 meters, the temple adds another 6 meters.
The El Castillo project is believed to be related to the Mayan calendar. Each of the four faces includes a wide, steep staircase consisting of 91 steps that ascend to the top platform.
Counting the upper platform as an extra step gives a total of 365 steps: 1 step for each day of the year.
The steps rise at an angle of 45 degrees to the horizon, while the average slope of the step pyramid itself is 53.3 degrees. The faces of the individual steps are inclined at a large angle, approximately 73 degrees.
The nine main platforms of the pyramid are thought to represent the 18 months of the haab, and the 52 panels represent the number of years it takes for the calendar cycle to repeat itself.
El Castillo at Chichen Itza served as Kukulcan's temple.
During the vernal and autumnal equinoxes (March 21 and September 22), the sun casts a wave-like pattern of light on the northern staircase for several hours in the late afternoon—a pattern caused by the angle of the sun and the edge of the nine steps that define the pyramid's structure.
These triangles of light connect to the massive stone carvings of snake heads at the base of the stairs, suggesting a huge snake slithering up the structure and descending into the pyramid.
Christ the Redeemer statue, Rio de Janeiro, Brazil
The statue of Christ the Redeemer is one of the new seven wonders of the world.
It is 39.6 meters high (together with a 9.5 meter pedestal), the span of the arms is 28 meters, it weighs 635 tons.
It is made of reinforced concrete and is resistant to external influences.
It was built in the period 1922 - 1931.
It is located on the 710 meter high Corcovado hill in the suburbs of the city. The additional height of the hill makes this modern colossus a symbol of Christianity and a major landmark of Rio de Janeiro and Brazil.
The statue was officially opened to visitors on October 12, 1931.
On July 7, 2007 in Lisbon, the statue was included in the list of the New Seven Wonders of the World in the project of the Swiss New7Wonders Foundation.
The statue of Christ the Redeemer with outstretched arms towers over the city of Rio de Janeiro. Tourists can reach the base of the statue by car, rail or by foot.

Badaling is the most visited section (63,000,000 visitors in 2001) and during the first week of May and October the flow of visitors can reach up to 70,000 per day
The average height of the Great Wall at Badaling and Juyong Pass is 7.88 meters, and the highest point is 14 meters high
The average width is 6.5 meters
More than 1,000,000 workers were needed to build this massive project. Includes soldiers, forcibly recruited peasants, convicts and prisoners of war.
Almost 1/3 of the Great Wall of China has disappeared without a trace.
