Jesus - The Baby in the Bethlehem Manger (Part 4)

Updated: 6 days ago

After His resurrection, Jesus said to His disciples:

All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.

The Holy Gospel of Matthew 28:18

Jesus is Lord

Jesus, being in the form of God, still did not think that he should firmly hold equality with God, but renounced everything, taking upon Himself the form of a servant and becoming like men, and being found in human form, He humbled Himself and became obedient unto death, even death on a cross. Therefore God also exalted him and gave him the name that is above every other name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow of the creatures in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, for glory of God the Father.

Epistle of the Apostle Paul to the Philippians 2:6-11

For if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart a man believes and is justified, and with the mouth he confesses and is saved.

The Apostle Paul's Epistle to the Romans 10:9-10

For us there is only one God, the Father, from whom are all things, and we for him, and one Lord, Jesus Christ, through whom are all things and we through him.

The first letter of the apostle Paul to the Corinthians 8:6

Jesus is the Judge of the universe

God, therefore, without regard to the times of ignorance, now commands all men everywhere to repent, for he has appointed a day when he will judge the universe in righteousness by the Man whom he has appointed, of which he has given assurance to all, having raised Him from the dead.

Acts 17:30-31

For this is why Christ died and lived - to rule over both the dead and the living.

So why do you judge your brother?

And why do you despise your brother?

Because we will all stand before God's judgment seat.

For it is written:

"As I live, says the Lord, every knee will bow to Me and every tongue will praise God".

And so, each of us will answer to God for himself.

Epistle of the Apostle Paul to Romans 14:9-12

And since it is appointed for men to die once, and after that comes judgment.

Hebrews 8:27

Jesus said:

He who rejects Me and does not accept My words has someone to judge him:

The word that I spoke will judge him at the last day.

The Holy Gospel of John 12:48

Whoever believes in Him is not condemned.

He who does not believe is already condemned because he has not believed in the name of the Only Begotten Son of God.

The Holy Gospel of John 3:18

For neither does the Father judge anyone, but has given the Son to judge all, so that all may honor the Son as they honor the Father. Whoever does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him. Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever listens to My teaching and believes in Him who sent Me has eternal life and will not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life. Truly, truly, I say to you, the hour is coming, and now is, when the dead will hear the voice of the Son of God, and those who hear will live. For as the Father hath life in himself, so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself, and hath given him power to execute judgment, because he is the Son of man. Marvel not at this, for the hour is coming when all who are in the graves will hear His voice and come out: those who have done good will rise to life, and those who have done evil will rise to condemnation.

The Holy Gospel of John 5:22-29

And all the churches shall know that I am he that searcheth the bowels and hearts, and will reward every one of you according to his works.

Revelation of John 2:23

The apostle Paul wrote:

For we must all stand exposed before the judgment seat of Christ, so that each one may receive according to what he has done in the body, whether good or bad.

The Second Epistle of the Apostle Paul to the Corinthians 5:10

The apostles witnessed the ministry, suffering, crucifixion, death, resurrection and ascension of Jesus Christ. They knew the truth and preached it:

And we are witnesses of all that He did, both in the Judean land and in Jerusalem. Whom they killed by hanging Him on a tree. God raised him up on the third day and made him appear, not to all the people, but to us, the chosen witnesses of God, who ate and drank with him after he rose from the dead. And he commanded us to preach to the people and testify that He is God's appointed Judge of the living and the dead. Of Him all the prophets testify that everyone who believes in Him will receive through His name forgiveness of sins.

Acts of the Apostles 10:38-43

Jesus is the eternal king

Almost 1,000 years before the birth of Jesus, God promised King David that He would raise up a successor, Whose throne would be established forever:

When the end of your days comes and you go to your ancestors, I will raise up after you a successor who will be one of your sons and I will establish his kingdom. He will build Me a house and I will establish his throne forever. I will be his Father, and he shall be My son, and I will not take My mercy from him, as I took it from him who was before you, I will establish him in My house and in My kingdom forever, and his throne shall be forever steadfast.

First Book of Chronicles 17:11-14

The angel Gabriel gave the good news to the Virgin Mary that Jesus, whom she would supernaturally conceive and give birth to, was the promised heir of King David, who would reign forever.

And the angel said:

"Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found God's favor. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and give birth to a Son, whom you will call Jesus. He will be great and will be called the Son of the Most High, and the Lord God will give Him the throne of His father David. He will reign over the house of Jacob forever, and His kingdom will have no end."

The Holy Gospel of Luke 1:30-33

When Jesus was born in Bethlehem of Judea, in the days of King Herod, behold, wise men from the east came to Jerusalem and said:

"Where is the king of the Jews who has been born?

For we saw his star in the east and came to worship him."

When King Herod heard this, he was troubled, and all Jerusalem with him. Therefore he gathered together all the chief priests and scribes of the people and asked them where Christ was to be born, and they said to him:

"In Bethlehem of Judea, for thus it is written through the prophet:

"And you, Bethlehem, land of Judah, are by no means the least among the leaders of Judah, because from you will come a Leader who will be the shepherd of My people Israel."

Then Herod secretly called the wise men and carefully learned from them the time when the star appeared, and sending them to Bethlehem, he said to them:

"Go, inquire carefully about the child, and when you have found him, let me know so that I may go and worship him."

And they, having listened to the king, left.

And behold, the star which they had seen in the east went before them until it came and stopped over the place where the child was.

When they saw the star, they were overjoyed, and when they entered the house, they saw the child with his mother Mary, and they fell down and worshiped him, and opening their treasures, they brought him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh.

The Holy Gospel of Matthew 2: 1-11

Jesus began to preach, saying, "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand."

The Holy Gospel of Matthew 4:17

Jesus went through all the cities and villages and taught in their synagogues and preached the gospel of the kingdom and healed every disease and every infirmity.

The Holy Gospel of Matthew 9:35

And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached throughout the universe for a witness to all nations, and then the end will come.

The Holy Gospel of Matthew 24:14

During Jesus' interrogation, Pontius Pilate, the procurator of the Roman province of Judea, asked him:

"Are you the king of the Jews?"

Jesus answered:

"Are you saying this from yourself, or have others spoken to you about Me?"

Pilate answered:

"That I am a Jew?

Your people and the chief priests betrayed You to me.

What have you done?"

Jesus answered:

"My kingdom is not of this world.

If it were My kingdom of this world, My servants would fight that I should not be handed over to the Jews.

And now My kingdom is not from here."

Therefore Pilate said to Him:

"Then, You, are you king?"

Jesus answered:

"You are right, for I am king."

The Holy Gospel of John 18:33-37

At His first coming to earth, the Eternal King was rejected, beaten, tortured, despised, reviled, and crucified.

Jesus spoke of His glorious return as a triumphant king:

And when the Son of Man comes in His glory, and all the [holy] angels with Him, then He will sit on His glorious throne. And all the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another, as the shepherd separates the sheep from the goats, and He will set the sheep on His right hand and the goats on the left.

Then the king will say to those on his right hand:

"Come, you blessed by My Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the creation of the world, because I was hungry and you fed Me, I was thirsty and you gave Me water, I was a stranger and you took Me in, I was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you visited Me, in I was in prison and you followed Me."

Then the righteous will answer Him:

"Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You or thirsty and You gave water? And when did we see You a stranger and take You in or naked and You clothed You? And when did we see You sick or in prison and follow You?"

And the King will answer them:

"I tell you the truth, because you did it to one of the least of these My brothers, you did it to Me."

Then he will say to those on his left:

"Depart from Me, you accursed into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and you did not feed Me, I was thirsty and you did not give Me water, I was a stranger and you did not clothe Me, I was sick and in prison and you did not visit Me ."

Then they too will say in response:

"Lord, when did we see You hungry or thirsty or a stranger or naked or sick or in prison and did not serve You?"

Then in answer he will say to them:

Verily I say unto you: Because ye have not done it unto one of these least of all, neither have ye done it unto me. And these shall go into eternal punishment, but the righteous into eternal life.

The Holy Gospel of Matthew 25:31-46

And as they gather the tares and burn them in the fire, so shall it be at the end of the age. The Son of Man shall send forth His angels, who shall gather out of His kingdom all that deceive, and those who do iniquity, and shall cast them into the fiery furnace: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Then the righteous will shine like the sun in their Father's kingdom.

He who has ears [to hear], let him listen.

The Holy Gospel of Matthew 13:40-43

I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify this to you about the churches.

I am the root and descendant of David, the bright morning star.

Revelation of John 22:16

To the eternal king, to the immortal, invisible, only God, be honor and glory forever and ever.

Amen.
