Skoka falls (Lopushnitsa)

Updated: Jun 11, 2023

My dear friends, in this travel blog journey we will walk to a beautiful, high and charming waterfall named Skoka.

It is located near the village of Kaleytsa.

How to get here?

The village of Kaleytsa is located at the foot of the Balkans in Northern Bulgaria, Troyan municipality, Lovech district.

It is located about 7 kilometers northwest of the town of Troyan and about 35 kilometers south of the regional center of Lovech.

It is located 380 meters above sea level in the middle of the Balkans, near the small Komanska River, a left tributary of the Osam River.

You leave the village in your car and continue on the small but good road. There are signs that will guide you.

About two kilometers west of the village is a very small turnoff with a sign. You can leave your car there because you will continue on a dirt road. From there it is a fifteen minute walk to the waterfall.

Skoka Waterfall is formed on the river Lopushnitsa and has a height of about 8 meters. That is why you can hear it as Lopushnitsa waterfall.

It forms a small and very beautiful pond, which can be reached. Just be careful - it's slippery. I know you're "falling" on waterfalls, so be careful!

Have a nice walk around!
