This is a unique wooden church of its kind in Bulgaria, which you will find in Borovets resort.
It was built in 1933 - 1934 with voluntary donations from local villa owners and famous and influential public figures and scientists.
An exceptional contribution was made by Tsar Boris III himself, who also helped with the construction.
The architect is Austrian and that is why the church has a typical Gothic alpine style.
The Church of the Transfiguration was solemnly consecrated by Exarch Stephen on September 23, 1934.
In the following years the temple was renovated several times.
How to get here?
I wish to you a charming walk!
