Why did God's Son, Jesus Christ, come into the world?

The Holy Scriptures reveal to us that there is only one God – living and true, limitless in His existence and perfection, pure spirit, invisible, without a body, without being composed of separate parts or experiencing any passions, unchangeable, uncomprehending, eternal, inscrutable, omnipotent, omniscient, most holy, completely free, not subject to conditions, always acting according to His unchangeable and perfectly righteous will and for His own glorification, abounding in love, grace and mercy, long-suffering and abundance of goodness and truth, forgiving injustices, crimes and sins, rewarding those who seek Him tirelessly, as well as most just and uncompromising in His judgments, hating every sin, in no way exonerating the guilty.

God embodies all life, all glory, all good and blessedness in and through Himself. He alone is all-sufficient in and for Himself, having no need of any of His creatures, nor of any glory from them, but only manifesting His own glory in, through, and in relation to them. He alone is the source of all things —everything exists from, through, and for Him. God possesses supreme sovereign power over all that exists — He can do through, for, and to His creatures whatever He pleases. All things are open and manifest before His sight, His knowledge is unlimited, infallible, and independent of the creatures, so that nothing is unpredictable or contingent to Him. He is most holy in all His purposes, actions, and commands. Angels, men, and every other creature owe God such complete worship, service, and obedience as He pleases to require of them.

In the unity of the Godhead are three Persons, equal in essence, power, and eternity: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. God the Father was not begotten or created, nor did he proceed from anyone. The Son is eternally begotten of the Father. The Holy Spirit is eternally proceeding from the Father and the Son.

God the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, in order to manifest the glory of His eternal power, wisdom, and goodness, deigned in the beginning to create, that is, to create from nothing the world and all things in it — visible and invisible — in the space of six days. And all that He created was very good.

After God had created all other creatures, He also created man— male and female. He endowed them with reason and an immortal soul, with knowledge, righteousness, and true holiness in His own image. They were created with the Law of God written in their hearts and endowed with the power to fulfill it, but also with the possibility of violating it, being left to the freedom of their own will, subject to change. In addition to this Law written in their hearts, they were also commanded not to eat of the fruit of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. As long as they kept this commandment, they were happy in their fellowship with God and had dominion over all creatures on earth.

Our first parents, seduced by the cunning and temptations of Satan (the devil), sinned by eating of the forbidden fruit. God was pleased, in accordance with His wise and holy plan, to permit this sin of theirs, His purpose being thus to manifest His own glory. By this sin they lost their original righteousness and fellowship with God. Thus they became dead in sin, and utterly corrupt in every part and faculty of their soul and body.

As they are the root of the whole human race, the guilt of this sin was imputed to all their posterity, descended from them by natural birth — all men became dead in sin and with a corrupt nature.

Because of this original corruption we have become entirely without desire and power to do good, opposed to all good, and entirely in favor of all evil. From this original corruption all actual sins proceed.

Every sin, both original and actual, since it transgresses and opposes the just law of God, by its very nature already produces guilt in the sinner. In this way the wrath of God and the curse of the law fall upon the sinner, and he becomes subject to death, as well as to all misfortunes - spiritual, temporal and eternal.

According to His eternal plan, God was pleased to choose the Lord Jesus, His only begotten Son, and to make Him the Mediator between God and man, to be Prophet, Priest and King, Head and Savior of His Church, Heir of all things and Judge of the world. From eternity God endowed Him with people who would be His offspring and, in due time, through Him would be redeemed, called, justified, sanctified and glorified.

“But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, to redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons." Galatians 4:4-5

“For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom he did predestinate, them he also called: and whom he called, them he also justified: and whom he justified, them he also glorified." Romans 8:29-30

The Lord Jesus in His human nature, thus united with the divine, was sanctified and anointed with the Holy Spirit without limit. In Him are contained all the treasures of wisdom and knowledge, in Him the Father was pleased to dwell all the fullness, that He, being holy, innocent, undefiled, and full of grace and truth, might be fully equipped to fulfill His ministry as Mediator and Surety. Jesus did not undertake this ministry alone, but was called to it by His Father, who had committed all power and judicial authority into His hands, and commanded Him to exercise it.

The Lord Jesus undertook this ministry with the greatest readiness.

The Son of God came to fulfill God's will

“Wherefore when he cometh into the world, he saith: "Sacrifice and offering thou wouldest not, but a body hast thou prepared me. In burnt offerings and sacrifices for sin thou hast had no pleasure. Then said I, Lo, I come (in the volume of the book it is written of me,) to do thy will, O God." Hebrews 10:5-7

“All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out. For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father's will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that every one which seeth the Son, and believeth on him, may have everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the last day." John 6:37-40

The Son of God came to seek and save that which was lost

Jesus explained:

“For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost." Luke 19:10

“...For the Son of man is not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.” Luke 9:56

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God." John 3:16-18

The apostles bore witness to this.

The Apostle John wrote:

“And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world." 1 John 4:14

The Apostle Paul wrote:

“This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.” 1 Timothy 1:15

The Son of God came to call sinners to repentance

“Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the gospel of God, and saying:

“The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and believe the gospel.” Mark 1:14-15

“They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick. I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.” Mark 2:17

The Son of God came to fulfill God's law

“Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets. I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.” Matthew 5:17

"Then was Jesus led up of the spirit into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil.

And when he had fasted forty days and forty nights, he was afterward an hungred.

And when the tempter came to him, he said:

"If thou be the Son of God, command that these stones be made bread".

But he answered and said:

"It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God".

Then the devil taketh him up into the holy city, and setteth him on a pinnacle of the temple, and saith unto him:

"If thou be the Son of God, cast thyself down: for it is written, He shall give his angels charge concerning thee: and in their hands they shall bear thee up, lest at any time thou dash thy foot against a stone".

Jesus said unto him:

"It is written again, Thou shalt not tempt the Lord thy God".

Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them. And saith unto him:

"All these things will I give thee, if thou wilt fall down and worship me".

Then saith Jesus unto him:

"Get thee hence, Satan, for it is written, Thou shalt worship the Lord thy God, and him only shalt thou serve".

Then the devil leaveth him, and, behold, angels came and ministered unto him." Matthew 4:1-11

“For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin." Hebrews 4:15

The Son of God came to bear witness to the truth

"Pilate therefore said unto him:

"Art thou a king then?"

Jesus answered:

"Thou sayest that I am a king. To this end was I born, and for this cause came I into the world, that I should bear witness unto the truth. Every one that is of the truth heareth my voice." John 18:37

“Jesus saith unto him:

"I am the way, the truth, and the life. No man cometh unto the Father, but by me". John 14:6

"Then said Jesus to those Jews which believed on him:

"If ye continue in my word, then are ye my disciples indeed, and ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free".

They answered him:

"We be Abraham's seed, and were never in bondage to any man: how sayest thou, Ye shall be made free?".

Jesus answered them:

"Verily, verily, I say unto you, Whosoever committeth sin is the servant of sin. And the servant abideth not in the house for ever: but the Son abideth ever. If the Son therefore shall make you free, ye shall be free indeed. I know that ye are Abraham's seed, but ye seek to kill me, because my word hath no place in you. I speak that which I have seen with my Father: and ye do that which ye have seen with your father".

They answered and said unto him:

"Abraham is our father".

Jesus saith unto them:

"If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham. But now ye seek to kill me, a man that hath told you the truth, which I have heard of God: this did not Abraham. Ye do the deeds of your father".

Then said they to him:

"We be not born of fornication. We have one Father, even God".

Jesus said unto them:

"If God were your Father, ye would love me: for I proceeded forth and came from God; neither came I of myself, but he sent me. Why do ye not understand my speech? Even because ye cannot hear my word. Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it". John 8:31-44

The Son of God came to destroy the works of the devil

The apostle John wrote:

“He that committeth sin is of the devil, for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil." 1 John 3:8

The apostle Paul wrote:

"But the Lord is faithful, who shall stablish you, and keep you from evil.” 2 Thessalonians 3:3

“And the Lord shall deliver me from every evil work, and will preserve me unto his heavenly kingdom to whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen." 2 Timothy 4:18

The Son of God came to free us from the slavery of sin and the devil

“And he came to Nazareth, where he had been brought up, and, as his custom was, he went into the synagogue on the sabbath day, and stood up for to read. And there was delivered unto him the book of the prophet Esaias. And when he had opened the book, he found the place where it was written: "The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor. He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised, to preach the acceptable year of the Lord".

And he closed the book, and he gave it again to the minister, and sat down. And the eyes of all them that were in the synagogue were fastened on him.

And he began to say unto them:

"This day is this scripture fulfilled in your ears". Luke 4:16-21

The apostle Peter preached:

“How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power. Who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil, for God was with him. And we are witnesses of all things which he did both in the land of the Jews, and in Jerusalem..." Acts 10:38-39

“Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same, that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil, and deliver them who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to bondage." Hebrews 2:14-15

The Son of God came to take upon Himself our sins

“He was manifested to take away our sins, in Him is no sin.” 1 John 3:5

" John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world." John 1:29

“Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree... ” 1 Peter 2:24a

The Son of God came to take away sin by offering Himself as a sacrifice

"For Christ is not entered into the holy places made with hands, which are the figures of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us. Nor yet that he should offer himself often, as the high priest entereth into the holy place every year with blood of others. For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world, but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself." Hebrews 9:24-26

"But this man, because he continueth ever, hath an unchangeable priesthood. Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them. For such an high priest became us, who is holy, harmless, undefiled, separate from sinners, and made higher than the heavens. Who needeth not daily, as those high priests, to offer up sacrifice, first for his own sins, and then for the people's: for this he did once, when he offered up himself. For the law maketh men high priests which have infirmity, but the word of the oath, which was since the law, maketh the Son, who is consecrated for evermore.” Hebrews 7:24-28

“Who gave himself for our sins, that he might deliver us from this present evil world, according to the will of God and our Father. ” Galatians 1:4

The Son of God came to serve and to give His life as a ransom for many

“For even the Son of man came not to be ministered unto, but to minister, and to give his life a ransom for many.” Mark 10:45

“Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father."

John 10:17-18

" For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die. But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us." Romans 5:7-8

"For Christ also hath once suffered for sins, the just for the unjust, that he might bring us to God, being put to death in the flesh, but quickened by the Spirit.” 1 Peter 3:18

“For in that he died, he died unto sin once, but in that he liveth, he liveth unto God.” Romans 6:10

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time."

1 Timothy 2:5-6

The Son of God came to be the propitiation for our sins and to obtain for us eternal redemption

“Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.” 1 John 4:10

“ And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for our's only, but also for the sins of the whole world.” 1 John 2:2

“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God, being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus, Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God.” Romans 3:23-25

“Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your father's, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot." 1 Peter 1:18-19

“In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace. ” Ephesians 1:7

“But Christ being come an high priest of good things to come, by a greater and more perfect tabernacle, not made with hands, that is to say, not of this building, neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh, how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?” Hebrews 9:11-14

"But of him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption. ” 1 Corinthians 1:30

The Son of God came to reconcile us to God

“For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell, and, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself, by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven. And you, that were sometime alienated and enemies in your mind by wicked works, yet now hath he reconciled in the body of his flesh through death, to present you holy and unblameable and unreproveable in his sight, if ye continue in the faith grounded and settled, and be not moved away from the hope of the gospel, which ye have heard, and which was preached to every creature, which is under heaven, whereof I Paul am made a minister." Colossians 1:19-23

"Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life. And not only so, but we also joy in God through our Lord Jesus Christ, by whom we have now received the atonement. Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned.... Therefore as by the offence of one judgment came upon all men to condemnation, even so by the righteousness of one the free gift came upon all men unto justification of life. For as by one man's disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous." Romans 5:9-12,18-19

“And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation to wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them, and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation. Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God, for he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin, that we might be made the righteousness of God in him." 2 Corinthians 5:18-21

“Who was delivered for our offences, and was raised again for our justification.” Romans 4:25

The Son of God came to conquer death

“Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them:

"Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished. For he shall be delivered unto the Gentiles, and shall be mocked, and spitefully entreated, and spitted on, and they shall scourge him, and put him to death, and the third day he shall rise again." Luke 18:31-33

After Jesus had risen from the dead, he appeared to his disciples.

“And he said unto them:

"These are the words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, that all things must be fulfilled, which were written in the law of Moses, and in the prophets, and in the psalms, concerning me".

Then opened he their understanding, that they might understand the scriptures, and said unto them:

"Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day, and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. And ye are witnesses of these things." Luke 24:44-48

After the ascension of Jesus Christ, the apostle Peter preached:

“Ye men of Israel, hear these words Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know, Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain, Whom God hath raised up, having loosed the pains of death: because it was not possible that he should be holden of it... This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses." Acts 2:22-24, 32

The apostle Paul wrote:

“Knowing that Christ being raised from the dead dieth no more, death hath no more dominion over him.” Romans 6:9

"But now is Christ risen from the dead, and become the firstfruits of them that slept. For since by man came death, by man came also the resurrection of the dead." 1 Corinthians 15:20-21

“Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began, but is now made manifest by the appearing of our Saviour Jesus Christ, who hath abolished death, and hath brought life and immortality to light through the gospel. ” 2 Timothy 1:9-10

The Apostle John writes in the book of Revelation:

“I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ. I was in the Spirit on the Lord's day... And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto me:

"Fear not. I am the first and the last. I am he that liveth, and was dead, and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen, and have the keys of hell and of death." Revelation 1:9-10, 17-18

The Son of God came so that no one who believes in Him would remain in darkness

“Then spake Jesus again unto them, saying, I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life." John 8:12

“I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness." John 12:46

The Apostle Paul testified before King Agrippa about his encounter with the Light Jesus, which completely changed his life:

“Whereupon as I went to Damascus with authority and commission from the chief priests, at midday, O king, I saw in the way a light from heaven, above the brightness of the sun, shining round about me and them which journeyed with me. And when we were all fallen to the earth, I heard a voice speaking unto me, and saying in the Hebrew tongue:

"Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou me? it is hard for thee to kick against the pricks."

And I said:

"Who art thou, Lord?"

And he said:

"I am Jesus whom thou persecutest. But rise, and stand upon thy feet: for I have appeared unto thee for this purpose, to make thee a minister and a witness both of these things which thou hast seen, and of those things in the which I will appear unto thee. Delivering thee from the people, and from the Gentiles, unto whom now I send thee, to open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me." Acts 26:12-18

The apostle Paul writes:

“Giving thanks unto the Father, which hath made us meet to be partakers of the inheritance of the saints in light, Who hath delivered us from the power of darkness, and hath translated us into the kingdom of his dear Son." Colossians 1:12-13

“For we ourselves also were sometimes foolish, disobedient, deceived, serving divers lusts and pleasures, living in malice and envy, hateful, and hating one another. But after that the kindness and love of God our Saviour toward man appeared,

Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost, Which he shed on us abundantly through Jesus Christ our Savior, that being justified by his grace, we should be made heirs according to the hope of eternal life." Titus 3:3-7

The Son of God came to give eternal life to all whom the Father has given Him

“In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him.” 1John 4:9

“He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him." John 3:36

Jesus said:

"The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly." John 10:10

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life." John 5:24

“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me hath everlasting life." John 6:47

“My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me, and I give unto them eternal life, and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand. My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all, and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand. I and my Father are one."

John 10:27-30

Before being betrayed, condemned, and crucified, Jesus prayed to God the Father for those whom He had given Him:

“...Jesusvlifted up his eyes to heaven, and said:

" Father, the hour is come, glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee, as thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him.

And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent. I have glorified thee on the earth. I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.

And now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me, and they have kept thy word. Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me, and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me.

I pray for them. I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me, for they are thine. And all mine are thine, and thine are mine, and I am glorified in them.

And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition, that the scripture might be fulfilled.

And now come I to thee, and these things I speak in the world, that they might have my joy fulfilled in themselves. I have given them thy word, and the world hath hated them, because they are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil. They are not of the world, even as I am not of the world. Sanctify them through thy truth, thy word is truth.

As thou hast sent me into the world, even so have I also sent them into the world. And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. Neither pray I for these alone, but for them also which shall believe on me through their word. That they all may be one, as thou, Father, art in me, and I in thee, that they also may be one in us, that the world may believe that thou hast sent me.

And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them, that they may be one, even as we are one: I in them, and thou in me, that they may be made perfect in one, and that the world may know that thou hast sent me, and hast loved them, as thou hast loved me.

Father, I will that they also, whom thou hast given me, be with me where I am; that they may behold my glory, which thou hast given me, for thou lovedst me before the foundation of the world.

O righteous Father, the world hath not known thee, but I have known thee, and these have known that thou hast sent me.

And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them." John 17

“The grace of the Lord Jesus Christ, and the love of God, and the communion of the Holy Ghost, be with you all. Amen." 2 Corinthians 13:14
